The incredible traveling dress is from c.1895 and in heathered tan wool. The bodice has a collar and inset in yellow and gold stripe silk taffeta. Fluted back collar in brown velvet with applique on the center front taffeta. Both collar pieces are removable. The bodice is dart fitted with side pleats on the peplum and brown velvet around the waist. Two buttons decorate the right side bodice. Big, gigot sleeves are pleated and tacked in a fabulous design. Cap sleeves are also trimmed in the velvet. Gored skirt with fullness at the center back. Condition: Bad moth damage on bodice and skirt. The silk taffeta is shattering.
