Description:
This is an out of print, hard bound copy of "Two
Centuries of French Fashion, An Album of Mannequin
Dolls", published in 1949. The 66 page book
contains fabulous B&W photographs of the 49 two
and half foot dolls that were, "In 1949 the French
Gratitude Train brought forty nine dolls to
America. One was intended for each state and one
for the District of Columbia......The dolls have
been kept together in the costume department of the
Brooklyn Museum. The dolls were created by the
Syndicat de la Couture de Paris....Each doll is
clothed in a replica of a dress taken from a
contemporaneous painting or fashion
plate.
Condition: Dust
jacket is badly torn and creased.
