Description:
This is a fabulous 1880's bustle gown in a green
silk taffeta covered in an ivory embroidered
netting. The bodice is dart fitted with boning.
Stand collar edged in a net ruffle. Pleated front
"V" netting from the waistline up to the neck. The
pleating is released and the netting is scrunched
on the chest. Ivory watered silk ribbon edges the
left side of the front placket and has a flat bow
at the base of the neck, the center front and at
the point of the bottom edges as well as the left
shoulder, Button closures down the center front
with hook and eye closures down the left side
front. 3/4, Set in sleeves have flounced in the
lace and ivory ribbon bands and bows. The back of
the waist falls to a pleated peplum with a lace
ruffle and ribbon tails underneath the center back
split. The green taffeta skirt Falls in gores from
the narrow waistband with gathers at the center
back to allow fullness for the bustle. The
overskirt drapes in tiers across the front and is
hiked up on the left hip with a ribbon and bow. The
netting swags across the back of the skirt and
bustle. Attached boning in the skirt to create the
bustle.

Condition:
She's not great, but not bad enough to be sent to
the graveyard. Some bad staining to the taffeta
which luckily is mostly hidden by the netting. Bad
underarm stains. Small breaks in the netting,
mainly hidden under the front placket. It's from
catching the net with the hooks instead of the
thread loops. Light yellowing in areas of netting.
Waistband of skirt needs reinforced due to rips.
Edgewear along the hemline.
