Description: This is a fabulous old wallpaper hat box from the 1820's. The newspaper facing in the hat box shows two dates, one from 1820 and the other 1821. The roller print is in a pale blue with a a pink and turquoise pattern. The paper box has some splits showing where the edges were string tied together during construction. Label: None Condition: As mentioned, there are some seam splits on the lid. The lining in the lid appears to have been repaired at an early time with a heavier paper glued to the inside. A 5 1/2" repair has been done on the lip of the lid with a newer paper that doesn't match. The pink has faded to a white, but still shows the original color around the top edge. There is dirt build up on the box and edge wear on the lid. Four stains on the top of lid. The box shows some wear, but is still in wonderful condition. Size: 5" tall, 21" around.
