Description:
This is a shirt waist from c.1910 in a gray and
white windowpane print cotton. The shirt has a
collar band with a center front inset in
embroidered and cutwork batiste. Pleats fall from
the shoulder seams down either side of the center
front to the bottom edge. Shorter, released pleats
on either side of the front armcyes. Hidden buttons
close down the left side of the center front panel.
Long, set in sleeves have slight gathers along the
top armcye with horizontal pleats running down to
the wrists. The back shirt has two sections of
pleats on either side of the center back. Waist
tape ties in front.
