Description:
This is a c.1908 one piece dress in ivory cotton.
The dress is heavily embroidered in ivory floss and
has decorative cut work. The dress has a stand
collar with a band of machine lace at the base of
the collar. Box pleat down the center front with
released tucks falling from the shoulders and
ending in pleats at the natural waistline seam.
Matching tucks and pleats are repeated on the back.
Center front box pleat of embroidery adorns the
skirt with side pleats circling the lower skirt
from either side of the center box pleat.
Appliquéd lace edges the seam atop the
pleats. Long, set in sleeves have slight gathers at
the tops of the armcyes and taper to narrow wrist
bands. Two rows of appliqué lace circle the
lower sleeves and a lace ruffle along the bottom
edge. Center back closures.

Condition:
Several very faint spots. Bad breaks in the machine
lace and would probably need to be removed or
replaced. Small, 1/4" tear on the back
skirt.
