Description:
This is a c.1912 shirt waist in black batiste. The
waist has a stand collar with rows of pin tucks and
faggoting along the top. Center front panel has an
embroidered and cut work design. Released pleats on
either side of the front panel and a row of
faggoting next to that. Pleats fall from the
shoulders to the hemline on either side of the
center front. Pin tucks fall down the back bodice
with button closures down the center back. Long,
set in sleeves have gathers along the tops of the
armcyes with pin tucks at the wrists. String tie
wraps in front to create blouson silhouette. (Even
though it was tied in back in the
photos).
