Description:
This is a fabulous morning gown from c.1912 in
fuschia silk. The gown has a v-neckline with
gathers falling from an ivory silk chemise. Pleats
are tacked at the center front, sides and back on
along the lower skirt creating a lovely draping
around the skirt. An over dress also has a
v-neckline with an ivory net collar. Elbow length
sleeves are cut in one with the overdress. Pleats
down the sides and down the center front drape the
fabric around the front of the skirt. Slit down the
center front, lower skirt with asymmetrical panels
on either side are pulled together with two large
silk covered pompom tassels. The back of the
overdress only falls 1/4 of the way down with silk
thread tassels hand tied in a basket weave pattern.
I hope this makes sense, because it isn't easy to
describe.

I realized when typing the description that there
are supposed to be pleats at the center back which
have been replaced since the photos were taken.
Several small stains and tiny holes on the outer
left sleeve as seen in photo below.
