This is a fabulous day dress from c.1910 in ivory

scalloped along the top edge and appliquéd
to a band of black velvet ribbon and an upper
border if ivory silk. Inset of the dot silk is
pleated with a border of black ribbon along the top
and an upper border of aqua silk. Two black velvet
ribbons cut diagonally across the chest inset.
Overlapping bodice opens in pleats form the center
front waistline to the bust Side panels are edged
in black velvet and fall in tucks from the
shoulders down to diagonal, crisscross pleats from
the waist. Lace shoulder caps extend from beneath
the velvet ribbons over the arm. The one piece
sleeves are cut with the outer sleeves extending
from the shoulder panels in rows of tucks to a wide
band decorated in lace and black velvet ribbon. The
lower sleeves fall in fullness form the tucks. Lace
under sleeves have black velvet ribbon around the
wrists with aqua silk edging. Pleated cummerbund
closes at the center back with a loop finish. Black
velvet buckle adorns the center front. Full skirt

Full muslin lining and petticoat.
Label: None
Condition:
The dress is a fabulous display piece, but probably
not strong enough to be worn. There are faint water
edge stains on the entire garment. There is light
underarms shattering under both arms. Large repair
and some shattering on the left shoulder which is
hidden by the lace, which was probably added later
to disguise the issues. A silver dollar size brown
stain on the upper, center back skirt. A repair on
the right side pannier which isn't very noticeable.
